Explore Automotive Manufacturing with QAD

With Explore 2017 happening in my hometown of Detroit, I could not be more excited for this year’s conference and to be your host. How could you come to Detroit and not walk away completely enlightened in a place that is so rich in automotive history and manufacturing? After all, its nickname is “The Motor City” And, if that is not enough, we’ll be in the top state in the USA for automotive manufacturing, Michigan.

In my role at QAD, I have the great honor of working with many of our automotive customers globally. I also get the opportunity to represent their voice in global industry standards and support them as they strive to meet customer requirements.

Let me take you for a quick spin — pardon the automotive pun — and navigate you through some of the automotive sessions at Explore that you won’t want to miss.

What Does Explore Have in Store for You This Year?

Automotive sessions start Tuesday afternoon with an automotive kickoff session. This is not just any kickoff session, you’ll be hearing from myself and a few of our folks in R&D about the new functionality coming your way specifically for our automotive customers.

On Wednesday, I am super excited to bring you Angela Hoon, Executive Director Strategic Risk Management at GM as a keynote speaker. She will be discussing the rapid pace of change and how it creates strategic and operational risks in the supply chain. In Angela’s role at GM, she makes sure that Mary Barra, GM’s CEO, can sleep well at night!

You’ll also will get the opportunity throughout the conference to hear directly from your industry peers.

  • Dave Williams, Senior Manager of Marketing and Strategic Planning from Denso Products and Services will be speaking on a panel regarding their implementation of QAD DSCP.
  • Andrew Amstutz, IT Director from L&W, will discuss how they moved 16 domains and over 900 users to QAD Cloud in seven months.
  • David McCarthy, IT Project Manager from Adient and Christian Baldwin Sr. Manager, Industry 4.0 will discuss how customer and vendor replenishment loops are automated with Visualization, Alerting and Monitoring (VAM). In addition, Adient will discuss how they are working on integrating Industry 4.0 into its organization led by its Digital Office.
  • Guido VanDenBroeck and Brent Shooltz from QAD R&D, will present how QAD’s new manufacturing capabilities support Industry 4.0.

Be sure to check out the Explore Agenda for more information on these sessions as well as the other breakouts, training classes, demos and networking activities.
